Quick!

Statistically U of M appears to be more diverse than U of W, at least ethnically. Can someone tell us about diversity at U of W? My son has decided to select U of W over U of M.

More economically diverse--lots of kids working their own way through school.

PatN- re Diversity- I don't know how to easily show the links but I did navigate the UW website just now and here are three sources to get info:

UW Home page> Admissions> Fast Facts (sidebar to left of page)> 1. Freshman Class Profile 2006-07.

UW Home page> Facts and Figures, more (lower right of page)> More facts and figures> 2. detailed enrollment... or 3. related sites- Enrollment Reports> minority...

By going this route you are exposed to many more interesting bits of information than just clicking a link here; this should give you the kind of information you want.

Wow, what really struck me was that nearly 70% of the freshmen worked a partime job. I think, I understand what you mean by economically diverse.

That is exactly how i felt, timmao. Well said.

timmao, my daughter also felt the same way and has decided to attend Wisconsin instead of Michigan. She wasn't deferred or waitlisted. She just thought they had a high and mighty attitude that she did not find at UW.
