quietest dorm??

which would be the quietest dorm? ckc? unit 1? 2? 3? I have heard noise complaints coming from unit 2 and I am a very sensitive sleeper, so what would be recommended for my case?

Hands-down Unit 4. Foothill if you want a co-ed dorm. Stern if you’re a girl. Bowles…not too quiet.

Sometimes walking around Foothill, I wonder if I’m the only person here. It’s very quiet, but not on Hillside when there are concerts at the Hearst Greek theatre here and there on the calendar.

{edit} Whoops, I dunno if you didn’t want to include Foothill in your question, but seriously, if you want quiet, it’s the quietest dorm you’ll ever find here.

well, foothill is like the most expensive :-\ have you guys had trouble sleeping in the dorms?? plus, correct me if im wrong, but isnt foothill geeky?

edit! i just read that its in close proximity of the Hayward fault. I dont wanna die!!

If any large quake happens, being 0.5 miles away from a fault vs being 2.5 miles away from a fault won’t make too much of a difference…(I just made up those numbers, I don’t actually know the distance to the Hayward Fault)

Hey, I’ve lived here for a year; there was no earthquake that demolished every building at Berkeley. Earthquakes should be the least of your worries.

Yeah, the price of living at Foothill is more expensive, but Berkeley is different in that Southside has residential hobos on the street and is more lively and Northside is quieter and more of a residential area. I would pay more to get away from the commercial area. Another alternative would be to apply for a same-sex floor in the units. CKC is quiet too. I haven’t had trouble sleeping in the dorms; it really depends on who your neighbors are.

dont you people hear others screaming across the hall or being loud with the doors?
