I visited and was accepted with scholarship money to both QU and SHU. I like them both very much and was wondering if anyone can share their opinions on what makes one better than the other? thanks :)

I believe Sacred Heart is considerably smaller than Quinnipiac, that’s one thing to consider. SH is around alot of other colleges, so could be more of a college town atmosphere if that is what you are looking for. Are they both same division for Hockey??

I recently turned down QU because even though I got a scholarship, I do not think that QU is worth the price at all.
I got into big-name schools that are much cheaper and better (education wise), so QU would not be worth it.

Sacred Heart is in a better area, in my opinion.

thank you! @momsok they are both DI

I am a graduate of both SHU and QU. They are both good schools.

However, Quinnipiac is bigger, nicer, richer, and better academically. QU has 600 acres, 3 huge campuses, 6000 undergraduates, the TD Bank Sports Center for hockey and basketball, over $200 million in the bank, #9 ranking in US News in the Northeast, #11 ranking in US News nationally for physician assistant program, a law school, and a new medical school. QU plays D1 hockey in the ECAC Hockey League with fellow league members Yale, Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, Brown, Dartmouth, Union, RPI, St. Lawrence, Clarkson, and Colgate.

If you are looking for a small school which is part of the Catholic tradition then SHU is a very good school. If you are looking for a rising moderately sized school which has incredible resources then QU is for you. Ultimately, the choice is yours. Good luck.
