Completed my app Oct. 21 and heard back last week

I applied october 28th and i still haven't heard back yet :(

but i'm hoping for an acceptance :)

@scribistan how do you know your app was completed? Does Quinnipiac inform you when they received everything or is it just waiting for some time after sending in the application?

I'm pretty sure I didn't hear from them until I received my acceptance letter. (no acknowledgement of application completion)

If you submitted your application and haven't heard back from them then I would assume your application is complete and is being reviewed

You can also send an email to the admissions office asking them to confirm receipt of all materials. My daughter sent them an email in December. They said they were too busy to respond to confirmation/status emails and to ask again after Jan. 2. She sent another email on Jan. 2 and they quickly responded and confirmed her app was complete. By the way, she is still waiting to hear if she got accepted. She applied at the end of October and her transcript was sent around the first week of November.

Okay thanks. I guess I won't be hearing from them until March or something like that then. I submitted everything in late November/early December.

My son applied in early November and was accepted on January 8th. We haven't heard anything about $$ yet though

I just got my acceptance letter 3 minutes AGO! I was shoveling snow like crazy and checked my mailbox and THERE IT WAS!

I am soo happy!

My stats:
3.6 weighted GPA
3.4 unweighted GPA
1690/2400 SAT's
Whole bunch of EC's
Good recommendations!

I am 100% fine with going to Quinnipiac! Deposit time!

storage lady: your son applied in early november and heard back january 8th??

I applied late october and I haven't heard back yet!! is that weird?

I was accepted too into the Honor's Program, with a 15,000 Trustee Scholarship. : )

I'm not sure where I'm going, but QU was absolutely gorgeous. It started out as more of a safety school for me, but I really loved it. It's definitely an option right now with the scholarship money. I'm excited.

^ Lauren can you explain to me what the Honors Program is? Do you apply for it? Do they just place you there?

Hey Chris-
I didn't apply for the program. I got the letter a couple days after the scholarship notification (about 2 1/2 weeks after I got my acceptance letter). It said that about 60 freshmen are invited into the Honors Program each year. You get special honors courses, field trip opportunities, etc.

TennisFan: The timing of applications and notifications is strange. But , they consider so many different factors - what the major will be, what their EC's are, what their GPA's are.

I'll say that my son had OK, not great, grades (3.2) with almost all Honors classes. He did have a fairly high math SAT . That may have helped him get an earlier decision from the admissions staff.

Maybe they were looking for hockey and lacrosse players for their club teams? :-)

thanks storage lady, but i got accepted last week! :) nothing to worry about!

I was about to wonder what's taking them so long, but then I got the letter an hour ago. :D

ACCEPTED

I have no idea if I'll attend though. Need to wait for the financial aid.

ACCEPTED!

i waitlisted about a week ago so i sent in my waitlist form and i got accepted today! so happy!

GPA: 89/100
ACT: 23
good extracurriculars/essay

congrats all! i didn't expect to hear back so soon after i was wait-listed. i applied on the deadline haha

I got waitlisted last week and just received my acceptance letter. I think the waitlisting was probably due to the fact that I didn't send in my application until January, because Quinnipiac was kind of a low competitive/safety. Still, great school, I'm happy to be in, though I'm not sure I'm going. Here are my stats.

GPA: 3.6
SAT: 2030/2400 (740v, 600m, 690w)
SAT II's: 700 Biology, 640 American History, 560 Math I
150+ hours community service
A bunch of 4 year ECs and an officer of a few clubs
8 AP Classes, with a 3, 4 or 5 on the ones I've already taken the test for
AP Scholar with Honor and National Merit Scholarship Commended Student

So that's basically it. A quick question. Does anyone know if it's still possible to receive merit scholarships if you were originally waitlisted? I imagine not but I'm still curious. Thanks in advance.
