Quirky classes?

Hey there!

I was wondering if any of y'all knew about any "quirky"/oddball classes offered at UT? I'm looking for something fun and out of my discipline, so if you have any suggestions, i'd love to hear'em!

Also, I've been trying to take advantage of all the opportunities that UT offers, but I'm afraid that I might be missing out on something. I try to attend key note speakers and different events that catch my interest on the KnowEvents page (like getting to meet Jennifer Egan squeals), but do you know of any special events that happen on campus?

Thanks
bumble :)

There’s a VERY popular Russian, Eastern European and Eurasian Studies course on vampires taught by Thomas Garza (“Vampire in Slavic Cultures”). I haven’t taken it and don’t plan to because it’s a bit too “quirky” and impractical for me, but I have several friends that are in it and they’re just fanatics about it. Apparently they mostly sit around watching vampire movies and reading vampire literature. I don’t know whether or not it’s being offered next semester. I do know Dr. Garza though and he is amazing.

Hmmm, I had never heard of that before! Thank you! :)

LOL I was hoping that UT would offer an intro to football course or something wacky and odd. im going to skim through the course schedules and see if anything else interests me
