quitting a sport last year of highschool

ive been a swimmer my whole life and am very good at it, but it is no longer my passion. I have the urge to just completely quit swimming for good, and pursue my new passion, bodybuilding, but i am afraid it will look bad on my college application if i swam for 3 years and then quit senior year. Will this affect my chances of getting into college or does it really matter?

You could apply before the start and of your senior year that way it wouldn’t even be on it.

Senior year activities don’t really matter - they aren’t listed anywhere on your transcripts. No one will know unless you tell them. When you apply, you list your past ECs not the ones in the future- applying early will put you in the non-disclosure spot. One thing to consider - if you are going to ask someone associated with swimming for a recommendation, you might want to pick someone else. If you are that good and it hurts the team, the person may not want to write you a glowing rec. after you quit.
