I m gonna to apply transfer this year. my GPA is around 3.2 and my major is computer science.Do i have chance to transfer to the UC? which one is the best for me? thanks for help.

TAG would be your best chance. With your GPA, you have limited options so investigate the one’s that you would be able to TAG to.

Santa Barbara might be a good option. I believe they have a pretty good computer science program. Saurik, the creator of the Cydia app for jailbroken iPhones, attended SB. [Table of Contents - Jay Freeman (saurik)](http://www.saurik.com/)

SB’s TAG GPA is 3.2 currently, so be sure to build a bit of a buffer if you can.

Sent my little bro to UCSB and he’s a CS major. He loves it.

thank u guys help. How about UC davids or UCI? do I have chance to apply them with GPA 3.2?

one more qusetion. for some reasons(like retake classes), i have to stay at college about 3 years before transfer.is there any bad influences for me to transfer?

someone here? i really need some help. thanks!

3 years won’t hurt you. The number of semesters you’re at CC doesn’t really matter, the number of units you have complete does. Of course, if you spend 20 years at CC to get to 60 units, that could hurt you. 3 years of full schedules for a science/engineering type major isn’t a problem.

thanks my friend. cuz some of my friends whose major is bussiness tell me lots of university will reject if u spend 3 years on CC. I m worried about it.

Doesn’t matter how much time you spent in CC as long as you have the basics(60 UC units,Math and English done, and all or most IGETC done-depending on major).

Nope, they’re wrong (at least for UCs). There’s a lot of inaccurate information floating around CCC campuses.
