<p>Rehashing an old thread - didn’t quite understand all the finer points:</p>

<p>What I think I am correct so far (ignoring AP opt outs, etc):</p>

<li>Got to take 2 R&C classes - A & B</li>
<li>They don’'t have to be a series, as long as second one doesn’t have a pre-req of the first one - you could take for German R5A/R5B as a series or you could take German R5A (A req) and Anthro R5B (B req) (Anthro R5B doesn’t seem to have R5A).</li>

<p>So, one clarification I need is,</p>

<p>Can I take “B” before “A”, assuming disconnected topics, for example, Anthro R5B first, German R5A next? The general opinion is that we can’t get classes we want during Calso, so I figured maybe this is one additional flexibility we freshmen may have.</p>

<p>It appears to me that you can take them out of order, but the university recommends taking A first.</p>

<p>I believe you can enroll in B only if you AP’ed out of A.</p>

<p>Christopher, I have read this too. Like you said, it’s a recommendation, not a mandate. I just wanted to know if anyone has done this or not.</p>

<p>stly, AP opt out is only relevant only if you are taking English R&C. The rest of the R&C have not bearing. You have to take both parts A & B.</p>

<p>For what it is worth, Telebears doesn’t appear to be programmed to block registration to R1B if you lack R1A. So it doesn’t really matter what their policy is, you can ignore it with impunity. I doubt anyone will care.</p>
