R-Day Events

<p>The following events are scheduled for Sunday, June 26, 2005, in
Highland Falls and West Point.</p>

<p>Vision, a Town of Highlands community group, will sponsor a "Welcome
USMA Class of 2009 Reception" for cadet candidates and parents on
Sunday, June 26, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., on the front lawn of the
Holy Innocents Church on Main Street, Highland Falls. This is directly
across the street from the Visitors Center. All are invited to attend. </p>

<p>The West Point Visitors Center and Museum will be open from 9:00 a.m.
to 6:00 p.m. [get your class of 2009 caps, t-shirts, tote-bags, and more
before they run out (JS)]</p>

<p>Fort Putnam will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.</p>

<p>There is a free concert at Trophy Point Amphitheatre scheduled starting
at 7:00 p.m. featuring the Concert Band, the Hellcats field music
group and the Jazz Knights. The inclement site Eisenhower Hall Theater.</p>

<p>If you want to meet the Superintendent and/or Commandant, they usually attend the reception at the Holy Innocents Church the day before R-Day. One or both will likely also attend the service in the morning at the Cadet Chapel and greet New Cadets and their families after the service.</p>

<p>The Class of 2009 tote bags and t-shirts make great keepsakes as they will have the West Point Crest and all of the names of the New Cadets on them. They typically sell out quickly and depending on demand may or may not be reordered for delivery by mail.</p>

<p>There will also be a wide variety of events on R-Day for the parents and families around West Point. The New Cadets will also be kept very busy by the Cadre.</p>
