<p>I found my friend's son right away...but can't find mine yet...I did see him running across the circle at Grant hall prior to getting his head shaved...and got my own pic, so all is good! Also have him in the oath pic (friend's camera caught him!). It truly is the the grown up version of "Where's Waldo?"</p>

<p>I saw my son in three photos (also don't know the numbers but can retrieve for you if you want). There is one of him being "developed" by a little tiny cadet. She has her face about 3 inches away from his and she did not look happy. I also got the most perfect picture of him marching back to Washington Hall after the Oath Ceremony.</p>

<p>Look at pic 157 on the USMA page...why is that girl carrying 2 packs?? She has one in the front and one in the back!!! Did she bring too much stuff??</p>
<p>She can barely see over the pack on her front. Poor thing had to lug that around all day! </p>
<p>Gosh after watching it all go down in person, I have such a new found sense of respect for these "kids."</p>
<p>I haven't thoroughly inspected all the pictures yet, but I saw my cadet in three of them so far.</p>
<p>Also, look at #159. There is a cadet there wearing his combat boots instead of his low quarters. What's up with that?</p>
<p>I saw several in tennis shoes and assumed they could not find their size in low quarters and WP was out as well...but by the time the parade came, I think they all had them.

<p>No that's not him but the photo of him is similar. Pretty funny, although I doubt he's finding any humor in it! His brothers sure got a laugh out of it.</p>
<p>Your posts sure bring back memories. It seems like only yesterday that I scoured the pics determined to find the face of our son (class of 2009). I succeeded in finding him in the galleries more than I was entitled to. Later when I showed the treasured pics to our son, he claimed that at least of a third of them weren't pics of him. </p>
<p>I didn't care and still keep them in my collection. </p>

<p>With a son in the class of 2009 I can't believe that the class of 2012 is entering. Congrats to everyone - enjoy every moment (at least the parents) because it will go so fast.</p>
<p>There is a pretty good R-Day video clip on You Tube now, too. About half way into the segment shows a frazzled cadet stepping up to report to the Cadet in the Red Sash. New Cadet is so overwhelmed that he says, "yes, Ma'am", instead of "Yes, Sir"... to which he takes a loud lecture!</p>

<p>Actually, I found our New Cadet in both of the newest R-Day videos on You-Tube. So glad to have this little slice of media just to peer into their world for a short moment or two...</p>
<p>So, Shogun has a Firstie? I am curious to know which company, though I understand about not sharing too much personal information. I tried to take various photos throughout the day of the cadre as well as the new cadets. I know it was a very long day for the senior cadets, too. They all looked tired. </p>
<p>I was just so impressed by the whole Oath Ceremony and Parade. I felt bad for the New Cadets in many ways as I know it was overwhelming and they were horribly nervous. On the other hand, I am beginning to understand that everything done there has a purpose, and this is the way they begin their journey - not just out of tradition, but because these are tried and true methods of developing young officers. </p>
<p>This gives me a whole new perspective on self-discipline and a whole new appreciation for those who have chosen this route.</p>
