R-Day Report

Disclaimer:info compiled from several sources.

277 cadets reported in today on a warm, humid New London morning. After signing in at Leamy Hall the swabs were put through their paces by the 2/c cadre.

Reportedly there are some 30% of the class that are female, highest ratio of any of the academies. Several female graduates of the first class to admit women were in attendance.

During the swearing-in ceremony three cadets, one cadre and two swabs, fainted. They are ok.

Three or four swabs were apparently in great distress at the parent/cadet "goodbye." "What did I get myself into..." type of thing.

Attached is a link to some pictures my dd took...particularly focusing on a cadet we picked up at the airport and transported to the Academy.

Good luck to the class of 2010!
