R.I.P. Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse dead: Found dead at her London flat | Mail Online

Sad but not surprising. My thoughts and prays go out to her family.

Really sad. She had some real talent, but it was expected to come at some point. I would’ve loved to see her make a comeback.

It is so sad. Like its one of those things that people say is going to happen but you never actually think it will really happen. She was so incredibly talented but she was so troubled. I’ve always been a fan and I really thought that eventually she’d turn her life around

And I hate to say this but when they tried to make her go to rehab she should have said yes, yes, yes.

She was only 27 just like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, and Jim Morrison when they died.

Interesting.

^ Too bad she’s no where near as good as those mentioned artists

I LOVE her music. This is so sad. It’s what years of hardcore drug abuse can do to you.

^^ I think that if it wasn’t for the drugs she could’ve come pretty close. Her voice was amazing but she did things like snort coke out of her hair onstage.

The Beatles did Drugs, Now look at em

It’s not a matter of taking them or not, it’s the matter of not being doped out as hell during your own conceRTS!

And Celebrity deaths ALWAYS come in 3

And Lady Gaga is 25…Naw I’m kidding. I would never wish for someone to die, regardless of who they are.

Even all doped out she had the eighteenth best selling album of all time in Britain (ahead of all of the Beatles’ albums except for Sgt. Pepper).

But I do agree that something needs to happen with lady gaga. Not death but a loss in vocal chords would be nice. Plus that way she couldn’t call her stylist.

She had talent no doubt about that, but this always happens. Once one celeb dies another one dies. Say for example Lindsay Lohan, she can act but she works to her potential and spends time doing drugs and partying. I hope she sees this as a chance to turn her life around.

not to derail this thread with Gaga talk, but there’s a world of difference between she and drugged out Winehouse. I’m not even a fan, don’t particularly like her music, but know second hand (she dates my friend’s son) that she’s a really down to earth but driven artist. Winehouse was just a stone cold mess, talented maybe, but a train wreck waiting to happen.

I always saw reports of her not doing too well, but it’s unfathomable and incredibly tragic that this could actually happen. My prayers are with her family and friends, a great soul was lost today.

Lady Gaga herself is an amazing person.

She one of the most powerful celebrities in the world and even has a day named after her in Taiwan. The thing is, she messes with this by trying to do something so original it just turns out crazy

She should make more music like Poker Face and Telephone and Alejandro before she goes from Fillet Mignon to Fancy Feast.

They tried to make her go to rehab but she said no, no, no

The thing about lady gaga is that she’s very talented but she’s not talented enough to make it in the music industry without doing ridiculous things. She wouldn’t be able to make it if she just tried to be a sex symbol like most other pop stars so she has to be different. In the type of music that she is doing your image is as (if not more) important than your voice. So when people watch her music videos and stuff they aren’t really there to hear her voice, they’re there to see the theatrics that are gaga. in Amy Winehouse’s case (at least musicwise) her voice was more important to the show than the way that she looked.

Lady Gaga puts on the shows though, give her that.

@ Almost there.

But the thing is, good voices by themselves are hard to sell.

Everybody wants a NICKI MINaj or some dance song now and days
