So I was accepted into the University of Utah for fall 2019 with the out of state 4 year Academic Excellence Scholarship (around 99,600 over full years)…but I recently got my first B on an online government class. Will this result in the repeal of my scholarship?
Stats:
ACT: 43
GPA (before the B): 4.00UW, 4.23W
Tons of volunteer hours+clubs+personal service projects
Will have 9 APs by end of Senior year
Wrote some essays pretty well I guess
(Whoops, ACT 34 not 43 lol)
No it won’t. There’s nothing in the T&C (https://financialaid.utah.edu/types-of-aid/scholarships/freshman/terms/2019-20/FACEXC.pdf) which would cause it to be withdrawn and the cutoffs are primarily based on ACT score anyway. They are more concerned about you keeping up a high GPA once in college.
If you are planning to attend (or even if you are not sure), it’s important to sign up for housing by the March deadline. Housing will be tight this year before the new dorm is finished in summer 2020. You’ll probably want to pick the MHC if it’s affordable, because you can opt for a cheaper, more flexible meal plan and you would have a good kitchen available.
@Twoin18 Thank you so much for your help
Yo, I also recieved that scholarship and I am also attending the U of U. What state are you from. I’m from Kansas.
