<p>hey, does anyone know if we can take R1b classes at community colleges. I wanna free up my schedule by taking one at my local CC this summer. does anyone know how i'd go about doing that, or gimme links to find out?

<p>An academic advisor told me you can take the reading & comp classes at a CC if you're in L & S or the college of chem. The college of engineering makes students take them at Berkeley once they're enrolled here. I think he said if you take the class at a CC, you have to take it on a letter grade basis even though the grade you get won't be factored into your uc gpa. Hope that helps. I think I'm going to be in engineering so I'll have to take the reading & comp classes here. Darn it!</p>
