I'm planning to register Asian American Studies R2A as one of my two courses for Phase 1. However, I noticed that the prerequisite for this course is "Prerequisite for R2A is 1, Subject A, or equivalent." What does that mean? Was I suppose to take a R1A course beforehand (so many people are recommending this class so I'm not sure).

This might be a stupid/irrelevant question, but I saw two lecture sessions for this course:
ASIAN AMERICAN STUDIES R2A P 001 LEC
ASIAN AMERICAN STUDIES R2A P 002 LEC

What does "P" and "001/002" mean?

Many thanks in advance again!

[Online Schedule of Classes Tutorial](http://ecalso.berkeley.edu/eap/soc.html)
here is a link about how to use it and what they mean.
Here is what it says concerning it:
"The course listing will also show “P 001.” This refers to two things. The P indicates that this is the Primary, or main, meeting of the course. The “001” refers to the lecture’s section number. Chem1A only has two lecture sections. "

subject A is the old name for Entry Level Writing. Most people either waived this requirement due to standardized test scores or passed the AWPE test they took soon after acceptance. Look at your Bearfacts account under the Personal tab, then the Personal Profile subtab. Look down to see the UC Entry Level Writing line which should say “REQT SATISFIED”. That means you met the pre-req before taking R&C classes.

The general sequence is Entry Writing -> R&C A -> R&C B but many people skip some of them, by passing AWPE, scoring high enough on SAT/ACT or on certain AP tests.

Thanks guys! Got the writing entry req down already so i should be good :D!
