RA application

i can't find the RA application in the orl website. what is the link? it's supposed to be out december. thanks.

be sure to intimate the 'fact' that you're part of the LGBT population, even if it's not true... that'll get you in as RA for sure! oh man gotta love ORL and its reverse discrimination.

Yeah I can't find it either. I asked my RA before break and he said it was up on the ORL website on December 1st but I can't find it >_<

I emailed the ORL and here's the response:

Hello,
RA applications will be posted mid-December. Please join our ORL Recruitment 2009-2010 Facebook group for updates.

To be frank, dawritingmachine, I think you'd make a terrible RA.

What are the reasons?

lol, i share pink's sentiments. I think...

I do not think it's appropriate to draw conclusions to someone you do not know too well. If I am going to make a terrible RA, the good news is that they will weed me out! :P And whatever happens is the best for me... Anyways, if I do get in, I think RA would be a great experience! (And it would help the OOS tuition haha). Has anyone heard of the UCLA Pathways program, being an RA for special needs UCLA Extension students? Their apartment is on Kelton.

DWM, we ing studied for chem together. I think I know enough. Also, I ate brunch with GOC people once, and you were there, and you didn't even say hi or anything. Also, you're in GOC. *GO-*ing-C. **I think that insanely disqualifies you from being an good RA.

But then again, you could probably guess what my idea of a good RA is. And I don't think your personality type can handle it.

RAs should be outgoing, friendly, warm, flexible, and willing to put the job before their social life (for most part). Also openminded and accepting of different people and their million possible situations. If you're those qualities you will make a good RA. That being said there are plenty of RAs who don't have those qualities, but they aren't such good RAs and often leave the job. Also, wanting housing/payment isn't a really good reason to be an RA, unless you're willing to adapt and learn those qualities.

Hey you guys! I was wondering if you guys could tell me what you think about my situation.

I am a transfer student and had to take a quarter off this year and did not live on-campus because I had surgery.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to apply to be an R.A. because I am staying and extra year and want to experience living on-campus.

You can try, but RA applicants are highly recommended to have lived in on campus housing. I haven't heard of too many apartment dwellers or commuters who become RAs (unless they previously lived on campus for at least a year or two). That being said you can try it out , dopesnt hurt to

The thing is is that I did live on campus but for only one quarter. I had to cancel my contract because I had two herniated discs and got surgery. Does this change anyone's opinion on my chances of being considered?

I remember I wanted to apply to be an R.A., but I was a little too late for that. Maybe I should try this year? What do you guys think? I did one year of housing cause I can’t afford this year -.- However, I enjoy the idea of leading others :D

one of the perks of being an RA are the ORGY PARTIES, right namaste!!!

Lol this thread has discouraged me from becoming an RA in the future.

I miss DWM! :(

I don’t!
Want her cell number?
