The official Berkeley page says it doesn't factor in race to admissions, but people have said that they do.
Is this so? If so, how does that work?

In before ****storm!

I told you that you have a chance boost because you are part Native American, so it is different for whatever reason as so I have heard.

It isn't supposed to factor in but I'm guess most people put it into their essays anyways, which can only work for them.

aerials is spot on...they dont see the actual box you check off on the app but if you write about it in your personal statement they will come to know of any associated hardships, etc you have faced along with your race

yes, UC Berk got rid of affirmative action, meaning they don't look at your race and see if it plays a factor. aerials is right though, some ppl can find a way to put the info into their essay.

The demographic and performance of your school/district matter as well. You'll definitely find a discrepancy between standardized scores of students from wealthy vs. poor neighborhoods, which in my opinion, is completely fair.
