Hi
I am looking for recommendations for Race and Ethnicity Requirement class.
Any easy fun and may be useful class? + class must avoid :)

I’m taking ANTHRCUL 101 right now for my Race and Ethnicity requirement, and it’s really not that bad. Two exams and two papers, but all of theme are doable.

My adviser recommended anthrcul 101 and there has not been any chance to get it in before i graduate. I ended up taking anthrbio 361, which if I am not mistaken was a NS, RE, and ULWR. Something like that.

^How was it? (It’s only NS/RE)

My advice is to delve into ANTHRBIO 360 (Race and Human Evolution) which corresponds to racism analyzed at certain biological levels and relates to pre-historic origins of mankind/cultural diversity within particular ethnic societies. This class is awesome as it fulfills the BS, NS, RE requirement and there’s a larger emphasis in regards to science aspects/subjects(Genetics, Evolution,) than one would think. By the way this course is only offered during the Spring, there are only 2 exams(very easy) and participation points(which if you respond to inquiries or ask them, these pt.s aren’t difficult to obtain=automatic 100% already in one of the three measured areas). Plus A2 during the Spring and Summer is beautiful and the professor Denise Guillot who instructs this class is by far one of the nicest professors you will ever come across during your time here at Michigan.

Anthrbio 361 is really easy. Lectures are kind of boring, but the reading is light. Three noncumulative exams and two short literature review papers. Discussion attendance is mandatory so that’s a pain in the ass but it was pretty painless. I enjoyed it. It was more interesting than other anthro classes I’ve taken because it is focused on the ethical and social implications of different scientific issues in anthropology, mostly.

Every one Thanks for great advice !
