My last name is obviously Oriental... so if I do not enter the race bubble, am I still considered "Asian" or "Race/Ethnicity unreported?"

If the answer is "Race/Ethnicity unreported?" then what about this: if I also put down that my first language was Chinese and that the language spoken at home is also Chinese?

haha it's sort of funny since hypothetically speaking.. your dad may be asian but your mom german or something thus the oriental last name..but the colleges automatically assume that you're full asian.

it makes no difference. if you don't check it they will make the assumption you are either white/asian. The only boxes they look at is to see if you are a URM.

you won't be turned away if your stats are high enough...its not like they'll look at your app and go "oops he/she is an asian...deny"

i guess if you're on the border it might matter because then smaller stuff like diversity comes into play...but seriously if you gots the stats/ecs youre in...

Yeah, my feelings exactly. I doubt top schools would be able to keep their elite status by rejecting great candidates solely based on race.
