Hi,
I just came back from a visit from Clemson. I spent 2 days there and i liked it alot.
Im black, and where i go to school, its like 70% white, 25% black, and 5% other. I noticed it was like this at Clemson. I also noticed that mostly white kids hang with white kids, and black kids hang with blacks. I guess you could say I felt a sense of segregation.
Im use to mixing in, and hanging with everyone, black, white, chinese, hispanic, race doesnt matter to me. However, i feel like im going to be rejected if i go here by a group that only hangs with whites, and put in a box to only hang with "my kind". Has anyone had an experience from the school that could tell me how it really is?

A lot of people do hang out with people of similar race but if you make an effort you can make friends with people of many races. I’m friends with hispanics, blacks, whites, anybody you can think of.

ohhh. well maybe im overthinking it. My school now is like that, but ive never had a problem mixing in.

My senior is deciding between Clemson and UVa and has friends of all races in high school. We’re white and her hs school is about 80% black! When we visited Clemson a couple of weeks ago, we both liked the atmosphere and did not detect any racial tensions.

Well im commited to Clemson for engineering. I payed the enrollment fee, i hope i made the right choice :)
