bump
Anyone there?!?!

No, there is not much racism at Auburn. In fact, Auburn is full of some of the most kind and polite people you would ever want to meet. Plus, almost 40% of students come from out of state, so it is also very welcoming of other people in general.

But… don’t take my word for it. Visit Auburn and make your own judgment.

There is as much racism at Auburn as there is at any other institution of 20,000 or more people between the ages of 18-22. I went to graduate school at Auburn. In my 2 years in Auburn, I never once saw or heard anything that can be construed as racist. I think these comment are people trying to keep the stereotype of Southerns being backwards and ignorant. I’m from Chicago, very liberal, and I found Auburn more conservative than I am used to, but quite moderate overall - we we all should be. Racism exists, but it’s on the fringe like there is racism at Stanford or Harvard or Yale. Just a stupid question to ask.
