How bad is the racism at UCSD? is it as big of a problem as the media makes
it seem? I come from a high school that is roughly 30% white, 30% Hispanic, and 30% Asian. Was the transition to a not-so-diverses chool difficult for anyone? Of it was, how
did you cope with it?

Probably, the only reason people make a big deal about UCSD is because it is in California. It probably isn’t any worse - probably less racist - than most of the Midwestern or Southern schools.

Ah right cos the Midwest and South are a bunch of racist backward hicks yeah?

Who wants to guess what the other 10% is?

No, that’s not what I mean. The typical schools in those regions are far more homogeneous in just about every demographic category than San Diego, so there would be no reason for San Diego to be more racist than these places that have large rural populations with little interaction with more diverse groups of people.

You could probably walk ten blocks in San Diego and experience more cultural diversity than walking across Nebraska.

I’m sure you could find reports of whether racism is prevalent and whether racism-influenced hate crimes are large, if any, there courtesy I’d Professor Google.

^ Sorry, forgive my typos.

would Texas be considered the south??

Texas is… texas. It’s not really the South or the Midwest, IMO. They’ve got a culture of their own.
