What would an admissions officer at UW-Madison probably not tell a prospective student?

If I were an admissions officer I would not tell a prospective student, especially a prospective student of color, the chance they might experience a racist episode is very high. This is due to, in my personal opinion, the number of white students who drink and their drunken interaction with people unlike them.

To those who attend UW-Madison or know a lot about it: IS THIS TRUE?

If so, I will deeply reconsider applying there.

well i live in minnesota in the burbs and alot of kids from my school go to madison and from surrounding areas...to put it frankly, we dont have many students of "color" at our school and i think that its a bit of a culture shock sometimes for kids...so add alcohol to that and theres a bit of disaster sometimes i think. but im positive not everyone is like this so dont let it discourage you i guess.

I don't know but I am not suprised. I am sure racism exists every other college, its just wether you catch it or not. Anyway if you want to avoid it I suggest trying to find more diverse of a college. The UW-Madison has 82% white.

The city of Madison is extremely liberal. If I'm not mistaken, it is the only US city to ever elect a socialist mayor. Anywho, UW is a huge Jewish school and has strong academics, so I really doubt that it could be that racist.
