What's the difference between batman and a black man?

Batman can go out at night without Robin!

Can I use that joke in my essay and talk about what's wrong with society???

Lol. For that, you have a 90% chance of getting rejected even if you wrote an amazing essay. I’m not trying to discourage you
but I would stay away from sensitive and controversial issues when writing essays to college. Something about poverty, environmental, and etc issues are okay but i think racism touches too close of a home for safety.

so racism is a no go?

definitely a no-go. However, if you can provide it in a wonderful context (Hard to do with such an offensive topic), then it would be okay. If i were you, i would chose a less controversial topic because it would be 1. easier 2. safer and 3. a good essay on something like poverty would easily be a safer bet than a good essay on racism. While racism might be more important to some, it is far more difficult to write it in a way that would offend no-one. GOOD LUCK
