Would WashU reject you if you were a muslim, since washu is predominantly jewish?

NO, there are a lot of muslim students. You can easily see them pray in campus. WUSTL is like the World should be!

hey polite.... you know im jewish and if i were accepted in washu and you were rejected because you are muslim then a wouldnt go, becuase the point, the thing we are searching the most is world peace and a place with high range like this shouldnt act this way

NO, not only would WashU not do that, but we have a Muslim students association that is sponsored by Student Union on campus.

Where did you get the idea that Wash U is predominantly Jewish? While it has a healthy Jewish population and an accredited Hillel, only 1800 of its over 6700 undergrads are Jewish (according to the Hillel website). Add in the graduates and the percentage is even smaller (2600 Jewish students of over 12000 students). While it is certainly a place where Jewish students are comfortable, they are still not in the majority.

Wash U would certainly not reject you for religious reasons. However, if you are worried about your comfort level, my suggestion would be that you go visit the school and talk to other Muslims, just to see how comfortable they are there. From what I read, I think you will be pleased!

Polite, WashU is NOT predominately Jewish. Jews make up 27% of the student body. This is similar to Harvard, UPenn and Northwestern, where Jews make up 25% of the student body.
WashU's percentage of Jewish students is not very different from many of the top ranked American schools.

There's even a Muslim special interest housing group (created by students each year) at WashU - http://village.wustl.edu/groups/groups.html .

i see i see; i hear this rumor all the time at my school and since I am a muslim I was afraid of that. Thanks for clarifying it guys.

Just curious--what sort of a school do you attend that people talk about the fact that a school is "predominantly" Jewish without investigating that claim and also that even if that were true, the school would automatically be anti-Muslim?

disclaimer
i don't want to start an argument AT ALL!

i just want to say that just like not all muslims are terrorists, not all jews are anti-muslim.

Wash U is a huge Bible school.

Silver12065, can you clarify - what do you mean?

LOL @ WashU being a huge Bible school.

need advice:

Silver is joking. Or trolling. Sometimes it's hard to tell the difference.

most of the people on my freshmen floor are either jewish or catholic. this is not to say that washu is dominated by jewish or catholic students, although a lot of the programming are put on by them. you can believe in whatever you want to believe in, and still find washu to be a great place. there are cultural events such as diwali, lunar new year festival, etc. that are sold out every year.
