So, the rackraisers are sold out and I’ve heard that they’re too tall. I found some 7 inch (that people say are enough) bedrisers from bed, bath, beyond , but i’m not sure if it will hold against the bed(might crush the bedrisers).

any one know any bedrisers that are good alternates that won’t break?

The Rackraisers are much sturdier than the ones available at Walmart and Bed, Bath & Beyond. They provide significant storage options in the tiny freshman dorms. Check out the Facebook page, kids who move into bigger dorms or dorms with lofted beds often sell their Rackraisers.

If you have A LOT of stuff, you might need the rackraisers, but otherwise the 7 inch ones should be plenty. You do have a full closet with shelves above it, a dresser, a desk with drawers, and shelves by the window - there’s only so much stuff you can really bring.

The only people I saw who had rackraisers were girls who brought a lot of clothes and shoes and everything else. I had the 7 inch ones, and even storing 2 guitars and related stuff (which takes up a decent amount of room) there, I still had empty containers sitting under my bed that I thought I would need, but had nothing to put there.

Does anyone know if the beds are adjustable (mattresses are able to raise up higher on bed posts) in all of the dorms or just some? My daughter is assigned a room in the Towers but has a direct swap arranged into Rich Hall in West campus. We did buy the wooden 7 inch risers from BB&B.

Towers has loftable beds (you can leave them low, or raise them up high and put a desk underneath). Rich is being renovated right now, and I think it will have adjustable beds (but not loftable), since that’s what Sleeper got when it got renovated. But don’t quote me on that one, since I haven’t lived in West.
