Radio segment on NPR right now on FAFSA!

I believe it will be repeated as part of the "All things considered" show. It is about a family that went into shock when they saw their EFC!

Thank you songman - I heard just part of this program while I was in the car and had wanted to make sure to look it up on NPR's site. :)

Today's show is available now: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4666831.

Heard it. Know exactly what they mean. Good information for a lot of middle income folks.

Our FAFSA EFC was a stunning $80k+ which was laughable partly because our son had a $78k college fund in his name. He chose to shoot for merit aid and did lots of research which paid off big time. When all the acceptances came in he had been offered merit aid in excess of $370,000 and enrolled in the college which offered him $100,000 over four years.

So much for that $83,000 EFC!!!!
