Raise 400 Points in 9 Days????

Do you think it's possible????

I'll be taking the SATs next saturday, and my score at the moment is around 1900s. i started taking one practice test every two days this monday.(practice tests best score=2090)
I'm getting ~560 in critical, 600~700 in math, and 750ish in writing. i need at least 2200-2300 for a very important personal reason.

As you can see, I need a lot of help in critical reading and a little less help in math. anyone have any ideas???? feel free to pm me

It's not likely, unless if you have never been exposed to the SAT...

My advice: Don't take it. You're not ready if you don't feel prepared. Take once you have more practice.

Anything is possible.

LOL, I raised my overall score from 1270 to 2150. :)
Although I got 1270 mainly because I went too fast. Don't worry, pace yourself, and worry about getting your answers correct, instead of finishing more. Pace thyself.

cough!jk!cough!

1270 on the new SAT?

Yes. :)

10characmax

1270/2400. That is around half of a perfect score. :P

Anything is possible, heck, I'll soon aim for 2300. :)

Wish me luck!

2300's all about eliminating less than 5 errors or so once you get into the upper 2100s, lower 2200s etc.

Gumball, that is so cool!

Gumball you inspire me. Role Model...Well I wouldn't go that far, but thanks for sharing your story (hopefully its true).

1270 to 2150? Wow!

If I could add 880 points to my score, a 2920 would have really helped me get into my ED choice!

what did you do to raise your score so much - and how much time elapsed between the 2 scores?

I took the test and got the exact same score both times. Even after studying a bunch in between. So who knows. You could just hope for an easier test. That's always possible.

Well, the first time I just took the SAT without really knowing what to expect. I answered all questions, but most were wrong, the first time. So I bought several prep books, and I concentrated on taking the time to actually know what the questions were asking. As a result, my score increased dramatically. I used every single minute, I didn't rush the second time. A difference of 880 points between a period of about 3-4 months.:)

i have not improved. still around 2000. any last minute score pointers?

Think Positive Thoughts, Don't Panic, Don't Worry about the score, just the task at hand.

By not doing this, I received an extremely bad PSAT score (192) when the year before I was at the top of all the sophomore scores in my school. Long Story, maybe I'll tell it some day.

SAT would discount you points if you answered incorrectly... so should I leave blank or give ir a shoot?

The norm I have heard is if you can elliminate a choice, guess, if you can't leave it blanck and move on
