RaiseMe - questions

Does anyone know if I have to add all courses that I have taken 9-11 grades to be eligible for this micro scholarship, or just enter courses selectively where I had good grades. How does this work?

And, is this money stacked to other awards from the college or is this included as part of overall package.

Honestly…no experience with this one…but what scholarship would only want your “good grades”.

I’m going to guess…they want ALL of your courses…not just the ones you got A’s in!

You only get micro scholarships for the good grades. The other grades don’t matter.

@dadof2d

Does this mean you ONLY list your courses with good grades and leave out any others?

I don’t think it matters. You only get the scholarships for certain grades. If you list others, you don’t money for them.

I have been playing around with it for D22. So far, it seems as though the maximum raiseme scholarship is less than the merit that equivalent stats would get directly from the school. In addition to grades and test scores, you also can get money for ECs and work.

There is a rather long raiseme thread on CC that has some helpful information, but mostly lots of questions. It would be great to hear more from those who have actually used the raiseme scholarships.

Here is some more information about grades from RaiseMe (most of the schools only award A grades, but a few reward B grades ):

Oh geez.

My d18 did raise me. At every school she applied to that uses raiseme she got a higher merit scholarship from the school so she did not get any money directly from raise me. I viewed raiseme as a small scholarship for a student who may not get merit. Since it is easy to do I may tell my d22 to use it just in case.

Can you please tell me if anyone added only courses that earn money, and did not add courses that would bring down the money. I think Raiseme calculates just the unweighted GPA, and a few of my honors and AP courses are not A, and it seems to impact the GPA and bring down the money which seems more than what AP/Honors awards would add.

Any experience?
