Raising a 29 to a 32+ by Sept

Hi. I got a 29 on the April ACT and was wondering if it's realistic to set a target score for 32+. The breakdown from April: English 31, Math 31, Reading 30, Science 25. I've been slaving away with Barron's for the past month and have just taken a practice test in princeton review where i scored a 33 in reading timed. I need some advice. Thanks!

It’s plausible, but the science is section by far the hardest section to improve on.

It took me 2 years to improve from a 28 to a 32.

I suggest you read the section in pr about the reading test, it helped bring me from a 26 to a 34 in one fell swoop

I got a 29 in April, 30 E, 27 M, 36 R, 24 S.
Also trying to improve to a 32 Comp for Sept.

For science I’m just doing general Practice and tests. PR 1296, etc.

Purple Mouse, where is that section?

It’s completely possible.

I was in the same category as you.
First time: Math-30, Reading-31, English-31, Science-29
Composite was a 30.

Took it a few months later.
Math-35, Reading-36, English-34, Science…25…haha
Regardless my composite was a 33.
It’s possible. I looked over my weakest subjects and went over some strategies in Reading and English to go quickly.

Good luck!

Thanks! What book did you use to prepare. I’m starting to think that Barron’s is not the right book for me. It’s too hard!

the science section is the eaisest section after math to me because the answers are practically in fornt of your eyes. the reading section is hardest for me bc i hate reading lol. if you want to improve your score by 3 points…id say work on english and science sections because english is just review basically and most often if it sounds right…it probably is right (not always the case though). Science is really easy imo because you really dont need much knowledge to do good because all you do is interpret graphs and some paragraphs. my other tip i guess is that if you are bad at math…id say forget about it because since ur a junior already…studying for something you’re not good at isnt gonna help much and id rather study something that im good at and can improve. anyways good luck.
