Raising a D+ after quarter ends?

I had a C- in my public speaking GE (first year) class at the end of the winter quarter, and now, a couple days into break, the teacher uploaded our final grade and I did poorly bringing my grade down to a D+.

Now, here’s the thing. I should have had a solid C. I’m not a great public speaker, but I tried hard, went to class everyday, handed in everything, speeches were correct length and format, went into office hours etc. I did everything she asked. I don’t even know how I did poorly on the final…I knew everything and studied for hours, but we aren’t getting them back so we’ll see. I know I don’t deserve an A because my voice is quiet and I am a bit nervous of a speaker but I am a good writer and followed her directions.

This teacher was known for picking preferences, and for some reason, she really hated me. I was respectful, never distracted during class, etc, but I missed the first class with an excused absence because I was really sick so maybe that is why? I would get D grades on submission packets that others got Bs with for the same mistakes.

Anyways, I’m trying to transfer schools, but with a D+ I don’t know if I’ll be able to anymore. Should I email her??? Is there anything I can do? Or is it a lost cause?

Thank you!!
