<p>MO Citizens Gather to Urge Senators Bond and Talent to Reform Filibuster, Not Blow It Up </p>

<p>Vote Expected This Week, 50+ Rallies Scheduled Nationwide </p>

<p>ST. LOUIS—On Wednesday in Serra Plaza at 5 pm, citizens from the St. Louis area will rally to protest the proposed change of a longstanding rule. This rule-change is driven by a Republican majority in response to concerns of a Democratic filibuster. The crowd at Serra Plaza will literally call on Senators Bond and Talent via a mass Phone-In demanding that the needs of the country come ahead of the ambitions of any majority party. Citizens from Republican and Democratic leanings understand that eliminating the filibuster rather than reforming it will effectively endanger a core Democratic principle : balance of power. The event at Serra Plaza is one of over 50 rallies taking place across the country organized by a variety of groups including the Coalition for a Fair and Independent Judiciary -- an alliance of the nation’s leading civil rights and public interest organizations – MoveOnPAC, and local grassroots organizations.</p>

<p>The rally will take place on Wednesday, April 27th, the day that Senate Republican leaders are expected to launch their attempt to repeal the filibuster. A large crowd is expected.</p>
