So I read that there's a Ralphs near on campus at like Le Conte? It's quite far from the dorms I think, near the mouth of the Westwood entrace.

So here are my questions:
1) Is there public transportation from the dorms to anywhere near there?
2) If you walk there, how long would it take from the dorms?
3) How big is that place?
4) Anywhere closer to buy groceries, dorm accessories, etc?

You can buy small groceries at Ackerman. Dorm stuff, too.

How big is what place?

There's a metro bus (I believe someone mentioned this in another thread) but I think it's somewhat excessively expensive just to get to Westwood and LeConte from the dorms.

And you won't have much room or utilities for real groceries, so there's not much point in trekking to Ralph's very often. Otherwise just walk from Ackerman (it's about 10 minutes) or find friends who drive.

Oh. And walking from the dorms would be anywhere from 20-30 minutes depending on which direction you're going and how fast you walk and what you're carrying.

Like I said before though, if you start from Ackerman it's only 10 minutes. So try to do it when you're already on campus, so that the only long walk is the one on the way back.

[]Yes -- but by the time the bus arrives, you could have already walked to Ralph's.
[]20 minutes.
[]The store is about the size of the entire UCLA Store in Ackerman Union.
[]The UCLA Store (but it doesn't carry fresh produce).

I was told that there is a school shuttle that goes to Westwood. Would'nt UCLA store cost more than Ralph or Rite Aid who carry weekly sales. I guess extra $ pays for the convenience.

everything is more expensive on campus.

i've never bought "groceries" on campus. but personally i would just like to get away from campus once in awhile. ok, yes, ralphs is like across the street, but thats still not within the UCLA campus bubble. :p
