Ramapo weekend life?

My DD17 has been very interested in applying to Ramapo. She’s starting to 2nd guess, that the drive home might be too long (4hrs to NH) for her to do, as often as she’d like. I’d love to see her often, but also don’t want her to miss out on a school that looks like a good match for her. My question is, can anyone with experience at Ramapo tell me if the community there is social enough, that people who stay on campus for wknds, interact much? She is not a party girl, and is a little introverted. I’m sure that if she has friends to hang out with, she’ll be fine staying there for more wknds. I’ve seen a lot of deserted campuses on wknds though. And I worry that she’ll just isolate in her room, on an empty campus. Thoughts, anyone?

Can you tell us more about your daughter? GPA/SAT? What does she want to major in?

@fangirlmom?

To be very honest, most people at Ramapo are pretty local to NJ, and many go home on weekends. There’s not a ton of stuff going on on weekends there. If your daughter really likes Ramapo, I’d suggest she ask admissions if she can do an overnight there on a weekend, to get the feel of the place. And if she decides not to go there, there are a lot of other schools that do have more of a life on campus that she may also like. We may be able to recommend some, if you let us know what it is about Ramapo that she likes so much.
