Rams Head ood

I heard that in the past UNC food wasn't exactly spectacular. How does the dining hall at the Rams Head compare to the old food? Better, worse, the same?

Much, much better. It's a sort of buffet format, but with differently themed restaurants. (Think of it as a small food court in a mall, but all-you-can-eat). You pay a flat fee ($8, I think) and then can go get food, drink, desserts from any of the restaurants...you have to watch what you eat if you go there a lot, I guess.

yea the food is a little better, I've been disappointed way more than once there, but all were pretty much caused by crowds.

Ramshead is nice, but it is in no way perfect, there are a lot of problems and a growing number of students turning against Ramshead. The Carolina Dining Services must think that Ramshead is perfect since there is no comment card board located in the dining hall.

Here's what you will expect from ramshead, very long lines. Weekend brunch really sucks now because they've closed Lenior on the Weekends. Brunch used to be great, I personally preferred Chase for brunch but at least Lenior was open too to help with crowd control. Now there is only 1 dining hall open on the weekends. And what really just made me mad was how there were so many families eating at Ramshead like as if it was some resturant. Its a student dining hall and most of us would rather not have to wait in such long lines and have to circle and seperate our groups in search of a table, i'm just shocked when I see so many families and little kids in the dining hall when they could easily go somewhere better.

Foodwise it pretty much the same stuff at Lenior, however plenty of exeptions:
1) the pizza actually tastes good, Lenior pizza is burned
2) the pasta is still cold, sorry no change here
3) no microwave in ramshead, this makes warming food up difficult
4) Omlets served all day (expect long lines there)
5) the grill serves chicken, fries, and burgers every time of the day, this is great since Lenior doesn't always serve chicken
6) no carolina burgers at Ramshead, personally this is a good thing, i'm not a fan of the Carolina Burger (not same as regular burger)
7) Drink machines are everywhere
8) its tough to find a knife
9) the dessert area is so much better than lenior, make sure to grab some snacks before you leave and strore them in pockets for later munchin
10) Ice Cream area is better (hint: by the breakfast area you'll find the real stuff)
11) Ramshead has a very classy coffee area, check that out

basically ramshead does have a better variety of food, good place if your a picky eater, but for Dinner I still enjoy the now less crowded Lenior. Lenior is great if you're in a large group. Its a shame Lenior isn't open any longer on the weekends though, maybe the newly formed "Free Vel" group will add that issue to its agenda ;)

That says something though if families are eating there. Do you know much about the Granville cafeteria?

I've never eaten at the Agora, but I"ve heard its pretty good.
