Random ACT Question

Hey guys I just have a few general questions about the ACT...

-I have not taken the ACT before and I'm taking it in December (I'm a senior). If I don't like my score, I'm not required to send it, right?

-Along with that question: I have already turned in a few applications...if I get a favorable score and decide that I want to use it, how would I go about notifying the colleges that I applied to since I didn't have anything under the ACT category at that time (I didn't decide to take the ACT until today, so I didn't write "planned").

-Would the December ACT (with writing) make it to UCs and other colleges on time, assuming I send the scores the day that they are available online)?

-If you don't like your score, only your high school gets it. But you won't see your score until you decide which colleges you send it to. So you have to realize how well you did right after the test up til when you get your scores online.

-You could just send the scores manually or decide to send it after you took the test (if you felt good after the test).

-If you're trying to make any Jan 1st (around that) deadline, you should be fine using the december ACT. It is, in fact, the last ACT for college entrance.

I didn't mark any colleges to send it to when I registered for it. So, is is possible to view my scores once they come out and then manually send the scores to each school?

bump 1pchars

upup 10cahr

It is but the thing is those 4 are free when you register, after you see your score it's 8.50 if i remember correctly for each school. So i would reccomend not sending your scores till you see them unless it's some safety school your othr stats assure you admission for.

yea im not planning on sending the scores until i see what they are. my question was whether this works (as in, i can choose not to send them to anyone), especially since the ones that i have already turned in do not say "planned" under the ACT. also i wanted to just confirm whether or not most colleges accept the december ACT w/ writing.

when you register, you can even leave off your HS code so only you see the scores. (Just click 'I don't know my HS' on the online reg form.)

To answer your three questions:

Correct.

Don't need to notify them, just send scores. But, if you ace the ACT you could always write a short note to each campus with a copy of your online score report, "just to update your file" and note that "official scores will be sumbitted.'

Yes, Dec scores will work for UCs.

Sure you don't have to show your ACT scores to any college.
