Howdy all. I'm a second year bioengineering major and ultimately plan on attending law school. Recently I've picked up an interest in economics (I'm taking my first econ course this semester) and I'm absolutely loving it. I plan on taking many, many more economics courses while I'm here, so here's my question: should I just take whatever econ classes interest me, or should I try for a double major? I'm pretty ahead of schedule in engineering, but double majoring will limit the amount of other classes I can take (psychology, business, etc). Please lend me your insight!

Sax, I was a ChemE major and took Econ 1A as a general elective and loved it. If you enjoy econ, shoot for the double major if you can...but, probably more realistic to minor in econ.

The double major could help lead you into different industries in the unlikely event that your bioengineering degree doesn't take you where you want to go.

Econ is more valuable to business-related fields. If you're interested in econ/business, I'd go for it. But, you say you're interested in law school. I don't know if econ helps or hurts ya. Just strive for highest GPA and LSAT score.

Good Luck!
