Random Essay Topic Ideas

I seriously have no idea what to write about that would show myself. would an essay about how I love to get and receive mail or a what i do and what I think about on an airplane, like how I analyze the people and etc. be better? or should i just go with a more generic topic?

I think all of these topics sound absolutely fascinating. Anything’s fine, really. You want to pick something to write about so that through the telling of it, you show the reader some aspect of who you are as a person. If you’re still stuck, check out a few essay books for inspirations.

Choosing an interesting topic (like the ones you mentioned above) are much more entertaining and eye-catching to admissions counselors than more generic topics. If I were on the committee, I would much rather read something unique like ‘What I do on an airplane’ than an unoriginal topic that I’ve read hundreds of times before. As long as it gives them insight into who you are, you’ll be off to a good start!
