In the space for your EC's, they ask about positions held and grades participated. If you were in a club and you were, say, secretary in 10th grade, but then you were just a regular member in 11th and 12th grade, would it still be ok to write secretary and 10-12 for the years? It just sort of puts you in a better light than you're actually in.

it's not like they're gonna know

but they might call the school

happens

gross

hmm apparently you need 10 characters for a post, interesting.

Write it in a general manner. There's probably a column for years participated and then another column for Honors/Positions.

Years participated? 10-12. Positions held? Secretary.

Pretty sure it works like that.

it works if you do it that way because by putting "secretary" you are not saying you have been secretary for three years running. it's merely stating that you HAVE HELD the position of secretary.

excellent, thank you

oh, another question - if you're the president of a club but you don't spend that much time in it...for example, my school has a bunch of honor societies and you have to be really qualified to get elected president, but once you are you don't do that much except make sure everything's in order. would this still look impressive or would they shrug it off since you don't seem to put a lot of work into it?

frivolous, they really dont know unless you tell them. if you go into detail and make stuff up then they may double check things. but if its just a part of your list it doesnt hurt, but may not get you into a school like captain of the football team would
