It seems like everyone has an I-Pod (though I know I'm seriously over-generalizing). I've resisted for the past several years, but now I've caught the bug and want one. Bad. I feel like I should have one. Blast those Shuffle dancing black-figure commericals. Blast those Nano ads with the hands. They're just really expensive, but they're supposed to be "so cool." And people believe they're "like, necessary."

Anyone here NOT have an I-pod? Could you share reasons? Is it because its too much money? Is it the belief that I-pods are simply a WASTE of money and you'd rather spend your hard earned bucks elsewhere? Is it the belief that I-pods are just an overly expensive, unnecessary FAD?

personally, i don't have an i-pod and i don't want one. I got a 10 gig mp3 player at walmart for $200 when and you get like 4 gigs from an ipod mini which is the same amount, so really ipods are just a waste and you can get more space for cheeper

About a year and a half ago, I got a Rio MP3 player with like 128MB for free from some promotion. It doesn't hold much at all - we're talking like, 30 songs max. I still use it all the time, and while it'd be nice to have an iPod with a zillion times more memory, I don't really mind and to me it's not worth the extra $200. Seriously, do you really need to take your entire collection with you all the time? I just swap the 30 songs on my MP3 player once every few weeks to keep it fresh.

I've got this cheap iPod wannabe (called an iRiver, even) that holds sixty songs (yes, ew). The cool kids haven't shoved me into a locker yet, thought it may be coming.

Pods are ridiculously expensive, but I don't think they're a fad. The new one, which you can download tv episodes onto for something like $2, seems like it might hurt the season dvd business

A ton of people at my school have iPods. Why don't I have one? Because I'll barely use it, so it would be a waste of money. I don't listen to THAT much music. Besides, good old-fashioned CDs own. (Haha) :D

I want the sexy black ipod nano so bad
I'm thinking of getting one for christmas..
I got a cheap mp3 player and the screen part is cracked.. i sat on it while doing yoga..i don't really know how it broke... my butt must be quite boney though..

I don't want an ipod. more than half of my school has it, including the teachers. i use to have a creative zen micro-- 5 gig same price as a 4 gig ipod. unfortunately, I dropped it on the floor :( all of my songs are gone.

I have a Rio mp3 player too. No iPod for me. My reasons:
1. too expensive
2. I don't need a zillion songs in there... I just swap new songs when I feel like it
3. so many people have it nowadays, I don't want to be the same as them! lol.

I don't have a iPod OR an mp3 players or any of those newfangled things. I have a barely-functioning Discman that's about 4 years old that's been dropped repetitively used with headphones that has only the left ear working. shrug

I sometimes wish I had an iPod/mp3 player, since sometimes I'm bored and want to listen to MY music instead of my father's old country songs, but I don't really see the point of it... I'll just zone out if I'm bored on a long bus trip or during study hall or a plane trip.

I don't have an Ipod, nor do I plan on getting one at any point. If I listened to music while on the go, I would probably be dead by now. My notebook serves all my musical needs and a pair of decent headphones doesn't cost $300.
