I know this seems a little random, but I’m just curious. How many hours do you guys spend on your most time- consuming extracurricular activities?

my top4 are 14/10/8/8

Yeah my top four, actually my only four were 20/15/6/6. It's all perfectly true, but I averaged the times, so I'm not sure if the adcoms will see my hours as an exaggeration.

I think my highest was 16, for my two sports, but those only ran for about 16 weeks each year. Then I had 10 hours for another, but it was for only a few weeks a year.

i think thats realistic. if i consider the other ones then it ends up adding up to around the same hrs as you (47/week)

Yeah, I was afraid of that too. I put averages but it's hard because a lot of things are by season too or there are lull times in between so then I had to average the weeks... and right before competitions and special events the time spent almost doubles! It was hard putting down the times for most of my ECs, except for swimming and track, because team practices and meets are consistent week after week, except for the odd weeks when we have two meets or the League meets.

I don't think they'll think it's an exaggeration because most people have really high numbers too. I'm afraid I estimated on the low side and it looks like I don't commit. I don't want to exaggerate so I try to be conservative in guessing. Too late now anyways. Anxiety attacks are common...

Wow, I didn't exaggerate at all. In fact, I gave really low numbers for everything. Oh well, silly old, humble me. I'll probably just end up screwing myself over.

Oh, and I also have my job, which is 8 hours a week. I'm sure they have to consider that, at least for something.

My ECs are my weak spot, by far. . .

Thanks everyone, I feel alot better now knowing that there are others in the same situation as me. I defintely didn't want the committees to think I'm trying to impress them with bogus numbers.
