Is Gallatin typically easier to be admitted to than CAS?

It seems like, generally, people belive it is easier to get into from a numbers standpoint. I think they're more forgiving w/ GPA and SAT. The essay and writing skills are very important though. Also, Gallatin is a small school thus they admit a smaller number of people. At the same time, less people apply to Gallatin. I don't know if it's really easier to get into or not... they're probably pretty similar. If you have good scores, ECs, essays, and you're not applying to Gallatin because you think it'll be easier to get into, you have a good chance. I'm pretty sure they look down on people that could obviously be applying to CAS (ie they have a pretty standard major in mind) but are applying to Gallatin because they think it's easier.

Moral of the story: apply to Gallatin because you like Gallatin's program, not because you think it will be easier.
