random question

...For Yale students:

Would you consider most Yale students to be A+ brilliant?

Dumb question. What is "brilliance" really anyways? Is it getting a 4.0 GPA and 2400 or being able to come up with unique solutions to global problems? My view is certainly different than yours...

If you honestly think only "A+ brilliant" students can be found at any college in the world -- even the best of the best -- you are highly mistaken. That said, most Yalies are very intelligent and are probably "brilliant" relative to most Americans and "smarter" than their college peers.

But really!?!?! Come on!

What "A+ Brilliant" means to you is up to your interpretation. I just wanted to know what Yallies really thought of the ostensibly super-intelligent people around them...but way to read into the question wayyyyy more than you needed to....Dare I say very Yale of you?

Your second post is a little more clearer jct -- your first post did leave something to be desired. But to answer your question: in the student body certainly are stratospheric intellects. But by far, the group is just a very self motivated group with great curiosity and very intelligent. Most of us had to work very hard (which we were used to) to get our grades and projects done.

Given the sociablity of the average Yalie, it is a perfect combination. I don't know what you mean by slagging the other poster by saying it was very "Yale" of him -- to me, there's no negative connotation because I know that it's a wonderful institution w/a great (but not perfect) community.

^ I think he meant it as a compliment.

haha yeah another post left to interpretation. actually, yes, i did mean it as a compliment, even if it did have an edge. don't get me wrong, i think Yale and all its students are awesome. i know a handful of kids at at the ivies and the yale kids are by far and beyond the coolest - in part because they don't put up with BS, like vague questions haha.
