It is actually hard to speed in a Tesla. Adaptive cruise control does a super great job not letting one go over the set value.

I’d check with customer service at Costco. It should be no problem to switch one household member for another.

@rockymtnhigh2, you can only get a Costco card for someone else if they receive mail at your address. I told my DD, now grown and flown, that she’d better not lose her card!

The person has to appear with you at Costco to get the card and “be at the same household.” They take the primary cardholder’s word for who lives in the household.

@HImom, they didn’t take my word for it. When I was added to my dad’s membership, I had to bring ID or a piece of mail addressed to me at his address.

Hmmm, for S, he just had to get D to go with him to any Costco and they issued her a membership card. It may vary by Costco or the year the membership was obtained. I believe S got theirs nearly a decade ago.

@himom My experience was on Long Island (NYC suburb) around 2012. My dad and I had the same last name.

S got his membership in Arlington, VA. He and D have same last name.

I believe it was 2011. Not sure whether they got the card in LA, HNL, VA or somewhere else. No proof of D’s address was required.

"I want to drive WA to CO in mid October. Is there any website I can see which route has the least snow/ ice if any " (from much earlier psot)

@rockymtnhigh2 - For Colorado part, try COTRIP - https://www.cotrip.org/home.htm

It’s the part from Colorado to Utah to Idaho and through a part of Oregon and then on to Washington state that seems hard to figure out.

Yes, cars in good condition these days will go that fast without falling apart. But road and traffic conditions may make it unsafe for other reasons.

But then some cars have speedometers that go way past the top speed of the car.

I am having friends for dinner tomorrow who are lactose intolerant. Suggestions for foods? Probably making salmon. Thought about a standing rib roast but cant make my favorite yorkshire pudding :frowning:

Jym, this question deserves its own thread! A fancy dinner for lactose intolerant guests.

@jym626 - Salmon sounds great! I would serve with roasted potatoes with smash roasted garlic and rosemary and baked asparagus. Do you need dessert ideas?

Thanks, @momofsenior1. Sure- dessert would be great too! I have a boatload of kiwi (from past trip to Costco) and was going to make a fruit salad, or possibly zucchini bread. Other easy ideas?

Love the idea of a fruit salad!

Was also thinking of a diary free kiwi trifle. If you want it quick and easy…I would alternate layers of store purchased angel food cake, lemon curd, and kiwi in a glass bowl. If you can find lactose free whipped cream in your store, you can add a layer of that as well. You can add other fruit as well if you don’t have enough kiwi.

Do you know your friends well enough to know if they like kiwi? Just saying that I think it is a lesser known/liked fruit for many people. Especially in quantity in a trifle. Maybe choose a more common fruit and use kiwi as accent in the trifle?

Thanks for all the great ideas! Keep 'em coming.

Fruit salad is healthier and I know she and we are watching our waistlines.

Some watching med conditions won’t eat something like dairy-free whipped cream, even if you show them the can. They’re just that vigilant. And avoid even the taste.

Goat cheese and sheep’s milk cheese have no lactose. Neither does aged cow’s milk cheese, like parmesan. Cabot cheeses will even say on the label that they contain no lactose.

Can you make yorkshire pudding with earth balance or some other vegan butter substitute? If not, you can have potatoes roasted with olive oil, rosemary, and pepper to go with your standing rib roast.
