Does it splash this way when anyone else uses that sink? Or try it using your husband’s sink.
I recently had a stopped sink that required a plumber. He discovered a different issue. Fixing that resolved two other problems we’d lived with, from installation, 10+ years. All that time I’d thought it was just me, some way I was splashing.
Use a gentle, slow motion when applying the water to your face. I cup my hands, fill them with water, then lean in very close, and gently lift water to face. There is very little splashing.
@VeryHappy I have found it runs down to my elbows, so I have tried bringing them in closer; not much difference.
@FlyMeToTheMoon I think that is what I do, but there is still water all over the edges. I also leave water around the handles when I turn the water off or reach for the soap.
I really am not a messy person, but this drives me crazy! While my husband’s sink has a bit of spilled water, it is nowhere near the mess I make; that said, this is the man that tends to have soap left on his face after washing up!
@snowball , if you ever find a solution please share it. The only time I don’t leave a mess on the counter is when I wear 3/4 or long sleeve tops, which then get drenched. I’m short and have to use a low platform step. Now I keep a washcloth handy and hang it over the edge of the tub to dry in between wiping down the counter and front of the vanity cabinet. H is at least a foot taller and has no such problem.
I really hate the water running down my arms when I wash my face. Then I saw DripKnots at a spa and gave them a try. Really solves the problem for me. http://dripknots.com/shop/
@GRITS80 Interesting! Of course if I used those they would be sopping wet and might still be wet the next day! I think most of my issue is from splashing and reaching for the face wash and hand soap. I guess if I had a bigger sink, or like @alh and used the tub, my problem would be solved.
It’s just physics. If water is running down your arms, it means your hands/arms aren’t horizontal when you splash your face. I would bet y’all are flinching/raising your head up when you go to splash your face. Concentrate on keeping your face closer to the sink, and keeping your arms/hands horizontal. If you are vertically challenged, getting horizontal could be more of an issue.
And don’t throw the water at your face, that’s why it goes everywhere.
My $0.02.
ETA: It will feel a little awkward, but try pulling your elbows back as far as possible before rinsing, this will put your arms in a much more horizontal position.
I tried calling Just Energy about my mom’s bill. After 40+ minutes of waiting I hung up and tried filling out an online “contact us” form.
Personally, I like talking with people and having things “done” so having it as a loose end wondering if anyone will ever address the form is a wee bit frustrating. Such is Covid life I suppose. I did at least get their auto-response saying it was received.
This is why I like speaker phones; I just leave the call on hold and hope someone will answer at some point. I have to contact Instacart with an issue two weeks ago and decided on their online chat-three hours later someone finally came on  At least I continue to do my computer work and took my laptop from room to room as I did laundry and such. Otherwise I use my landline phone on speaker, this even prior to COVID.
I have had to contact Athleta numerous times as I had an online return that was received at their return center now 7 weeks ago, and still have not received my credit to my credit card. My last conversation with them was give them a month as the return center is short staffed. I do understand that, but I have submitted the tracking information, and it actually shows on my online account that it was received, so why can’t I have my refund? My concern is I will forget about this and will never get the refund. I don’t know if I should dispute the original charge with my credit card, or just wait.
There is a time limit after which credit card companied do not have to refund your money (its something like 6 or 8 weeks, so you are close). I would DEFINITELY call your cr card co immediately and get the dispute on file before that window closes. They may be lenient given the craziness now and also that you have a confirmation of the return, but still, I’d call them now.
DW and I were supposed to go to Hawaii in April. Everything got cancelled of course, but the travel agent told us the company they use for fulfillment said 30-60 days for a refund.
That would put everything beyond the 60 day limit to dispute the charges, so we disputed everything and got the money back in less than a week.
It might cost the company something for a charge-back (unless they refunded instantly, it’s hard to tell) but no way were we going to give the company free use of our money for 60 days and risk them going out of business, leaving us high and dry for thousands of $$$. It should not take 60 days too process a refund.
It’s the ultimate hammer against recalcitrant businesses, and one reason I charge everything I can.
I did go online and dispute and already have the credit from the credit card company. I have never had an issue with Banana Republic/GAP/Athleta in the past, and as a family, we order a good amount with them; I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt due to COVID. My concern was it showed delivered inside their return center, so the CS reply of it can take a month to see a refund makes no sense. The last conversation was about my concern that while it shows delivered, it wasn’t applied to my account. The last person took the tracking information, which is with a label they sent me, so that have in their system, the dates and order number. She said she was sending that over to the return center and they would be in touch; that was over a week ago!
Thanks for pushing me to go ahead and dispute the charge; one less think to remember!
This photo really reminds me of my great nephew. I posted a link and the photo. My niece showed it to her S and he said it looks like him. My other niece and my sister (the boy’s grandma) also are struck by the likeness! Funny how things catch your eye. It made us all smile.
Anyone note that there’s a header on Twitter called “Room Rater” or @ratemyskyperoom. It’s to opine on the decorating visible in the rooms of the folks reporting from home.
I saw it about a guy who wore boxers below his more professional jacket and tie. He was standing at a podium. Unfortunately, the camera caught a smidge.
Last night, I swear, a guy seemed to be sitting on his toilet. (I thought the size and height of the window was maybe the hint.) Or maybe he was in the laundry room and sitting on a stool?
The big expensive houses around DC have lots of gorgeous rooms. Why not one of those? Or close the drapes and sit there?
