Once I retired, I drove my car a lot less, like 10-13,000 miles/year less. I held off on the 55K service til it hit that #, but did an oil change in the middle. They did an overall inspection with the oil, so I knew of there was anything that was dangerous. It needed brakes, and I was happy to split that from the $$$ of the 55K service.

I’ve done my best to drive the car once a week during the shutdown to make certain the battery is charged, oil and gas are circulating, and there aren’t any critters hanging around inside it.

We drive maybe 5000 miles or less per each of our 2 vehicles. I’m happy not to be shuttling kids or other t o and fro as I used to before they started driving. With 4 of us mostly staying home, we are mainly using the electric portion of my hybrid which we charge nightly.

I get an email from Athleta this morning that they have received my return and it will be posted to my account in 10 business days. At that point they will have had the package 2 months! I am sure Citi will take the credit off once this gets posted, but glad I disputed it anyway.

Is there a way to listen to CBS this morning in its entirety on my phone? I think maybe CBS all access is an option, but I am not a subscriber so I don’t know that for sure.

I have googled and all I can find is podcasts with certain stories from CTM, but not the whole show.

Try something like Tunein radio. You can get lots of news shows etc. It’s how I listen to CNN or Mnbc on my way to work

Why can’t libraries be semi-open during the pandemic?? DH and I were thinking that one could reserve a book online, then drive by the library and have a librarian bring it out, just as happens with take-out food.

ETA: If this has been discussed elsewhere, please give me the link.

@VeryHappy - I agree. The books being returned could be “quarantined” for several days before they would be shelved or circulated again.

I’m going to ask my librarian. She sends out emails every few days.

I believe many libraries are doing this, or looking into it. San Diego is considering starting it up. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/news/politics/story/2020-05-13/san-diego-library-branches-explore-allowing-curbside-book-pick-ups

Re: the library - I’m sure you probably like real books better, but if you have a Kindle and haven’t linked it to your library card, now’s a perfect time! I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on…

Getting library books on my iPad has saved me hundreds of dollars. I never make it to the “real” library, and I used to spend a ton on books from Apple. Now I get almost everything through the library. Sometimes you have to wait awhile for recent bestsellers though.

Anybody looking for a new ToonBlast team?

I’ve got some openings…message me if you are interested. Active players only.

I do sometimes download library books to my Kindle, but (a) the experience isn’t the same, and (b) my library often doesn’t have new titles on Kindle.

Anyone having issues with the latest iOS (13.4.1) update? My iPad Pro, which isn’t even 3 years old yet, had has issues for a very long time, but I really don’t want to wipe it completely and reinstall everything, which is probably what it would take.

I have had ongoing issues for eons with my logitech keyboard (the apostrophe doesn’t respond and I have to manually fix it with the ipad keyboard, so often skip it and just leave it out). Today google search is consistently crashing. I checked the updates and it updated yesterday to do bug fixes (after the latest ios update, which auto installed even though I have that setting turned off!!) And when I tried to use the ipad keyboard, when I touched the delete option the numbers 9 or 0 lit up and typed that. ARGH. Any computer/ipad gurus out there? I guess I may have to wait for the next google bug fix. Any other ideas?

Reset your device and see if it fixes it. Also Google your issues. There are online forums and some are actually helpful with advice.

That was the first thing I did. Hard reset. No luck.

My on screen keypad won’t work with the tablet. Without getting up to my waist in confirming I’ve already tried everything I found recommended, can anyone suggest something to try?

If it were a matter of googling, trust that I wouldn’t ask…

If one key gets stuck, it does seem like a mechanical issue. That key.

@lookingforward, when I’ve had that problem I turned my IPAD off and on, and it worked. Not high tech solution, but I’m typing now

You have probably tried this, but if you rotate your device does “that key” move to a different place on the screen?

Has anyone successfully stretched a wool hat? We bought it 30+ years ago in Germany and it has shrunken. Thanks.
