If my husband was doing the dishes, it would be the mug. He tend to leave soap on items he cleans!
I would try the cleaning trick, for sure. Does the soapy taste appear when the machine has been sitting for a while without use (dry) or after a few days of regular use?
Coffee pot is used everyday. Mon- Thursday for a small pot and a larger pot on Friday-Sunday. The last two days it’s been fine. I cleaned everything and ran it with both vinegar and fresh water. Keeping my fingers crossed that it was maybe a soapy mug.
Does your coffeepot have a filter (its usually in the water reservoir). Might be time to change that too.
Why is the paperwork so darn complicated when someone dies?
^I think part of it is intentional. Like closing an account.
@ I pulled out the filter. I thought I had some but I must have used them all, i’ve ordered new filters. Since I gave it a good cleaning it’s been okay. It’s a mystery,I considered a new machine but Costco is presently out of stock.
…I’d always read it can also be the oils in the made coffee that stick in the pot.
I got an email from store-news@amazon.com, that says if I click the link below it will credit my $10 reward for buying something in Kitchen.
Feels like a scam, but I did just order some coffee and other kitchen kinds of things (I don’t shop Amazon much, bc both my husband and son have prime accounts).
Opinions?
Googling “ store-news@amazon.com” reveals that it is highly likely a spoofing scam. The links are in FB and Reddit so cant link t them.
Always a scam. All you ever have to do if unsure is see where the sender is sending from. So the little down arrow under their name will reveal what their email address is. If your being spoofed it’s usually something that doesn’t make sense. Never click on anything from an email you didn’t request. Repeat that to yourself!!! If legit 99% are not,you can always to go their site by doing a search yourself and look at the offer.
So what do you never due when an email is sent to you that you didn’t ask for? Click on the link but you can click on the spam tab… Lol
Thanks-
@Knowsstuff, the address shows an Amazon.com extension or whatever on it which leads me to believe it MIGHT be real.
@BunsenBurner I ran into the same problem as you when I tried to google it. I don’t do facebook so couldn’t get far.
Not worth ten bucks to worry about it - I wont’ be clicking.
D is buying a condo and we are helping her with the downpayment. It will be over the 30K we can gift her without tax concerns for this year. I know we will need to file a tax form for the amount over 30K and can write it off as gifts in the following years. But does anyone know if she needs to file anything specific with her taxes? Figured it would be easier to get the documentation needed right now rather than next March!
We’re actually in the midst of doing the same thing for our son and future daughter in law. No, your D doesn’t have to file anything. You will have to file a gift tax form with your taxes next year. But you do not write the excess off as gifts in future years. The excess reduces the lifetime gift tax exemption which is $11.4 million at this time.
Make part of it a loan which you forgive next year.
The From: line in email can be made into anything. To get an idea of where it really may have come from, you need to look at the full headers, particularly the Received: lines which show which mail servers it passed through on the way to you.
I am sure this has been discussed, but I don’t remember the response- When you want to respond to a post without comment, what is the difference between Agree, Like or Helpful? There are times I really want to show unity, but have trouble deciding which to click.
Helpful was one I think we kind of tweeked ourselves (I feel like @deb922 suggested it??)
- it can mean “this is a helpful post” in some way
- it can also mean “sending you support/sympathy/hugs/that kind of thing”
I “agree” if I agree.
“Like” - I use for “like” or “that’s a funny post”, “not quite agree but I support your thought”, “good for you” - that kind of things.
New random question:
I want to make pesto; I usually use walnuts but I’m out, and don’t have pine nuts either.
Can I make pesto with Pecans? I have a big bag of those…
^^^ sure! Just about any nut or seed can be used. I’ve used pumpkin seeds before.
