Just saying. My own DH would forget to tell me things. Mostly about his friends, so I’d miss chances to congratulate or show compassion. Odd.
In the case of MIL, it was so obvious what “small” things were causing large-sseming issues. I walked in and figured it out right away. Him? Not. If only he’d shared earlier.
Sometimes, roles aren’t clear. Who’s got med POA for the FIL?
S loves to eat the spinach and mozzarella ravioli from Costco. But everytime he cooks this and strains using a colander, the colander has little bits of cheese clogging up the tiny holes. Is a pain to clean. Is there any trick to cleaning this? Or should he just use a different colander?
coat it lightly with olive oil (it will mix with pasta perfectly ) then clean. But if you have another colander then avoid the situation completely would work for me.
We have a plastic colander with pretty large holes (from a Tupperware party in the 80s). I’m sure similar things are for sale now. It’s actually my favorite for large pasta.
Last winter, Williams Sonoma had a sale of large and small colanders, metal, in blue or red. I bought 2 of each. My little bowl is used to wash and serve berries.
My GF, with her 5 children, invited me to dinner. I knew her kitchen had a red theme, so I took the large red colander with me as a gift. Strange, right? ( there was a gift receipt, so she could have returned for towels, etc.). Anyway, she and DD said “how did you know?” The DD took me to their garbage can, where they had finally thrown out their torn colander.
Y’all are cracking me up! I got some fancy colanders but the ole plastic white one with big holes is the only one that gets used. Must’ve had it 40 years.
We have a metal one, too, but stuff gets stuck in it. The old banged up white colander is still the go-to. I think we got it before we were married.
In our house, we have a running joke that things acquired before or at marriage can’t be replaced. H always says, “If you throw X out because it’s old and dinged, what are you replacing next? Me?!”
My sister wants me to try to join a lawsuit against Zantac due to my mom’s cancer. I just googled it. There seem to be oodles of lawyers out there wanting to “review” cases.
How in the world do I pick one? Do I pick one? Mom’s cancer (esophageal - right next to her stomach) cause was unexplained. She had numerous bladder issues too (seems to go along with it). So maybe this is indeed it? I don’t know.
I’m also wondering how do I even prove it? How do I know how long she took Zantac? It was OTC, wasn’t it? Would her doctor have kept any records after she passed away in 2019?
This is a whole new world for me and google certainly isn’t making it easier. It definitely showed me it’s a “thing” though. I’ll admit I thought my sister was grasping at straws.
I just gave my sister the task of proving it. If she can, then I guess I’ll just pick one of the links that looks the most promising and see where it leads. I’m not inclined to spend one penny, but having read a bit about it, it definitely could answer the question that’s been nagging us. How did mom get that cancer? She’s the first person known in her genetic line to ever get any cancer with multiple relatives living into their late 80s or early 90s, so that’s ruled out. She didn’t smoke at all or drink much (never saw her tipsy), and was active up until she couldn’t be.
Having plausible answers helps the mind if nothing else.
You don’t have to prove the cancer actually came from the Zantac. You’ll have to provide records that show she was diagnosed with that type cancer and then somehow to show if and perhaps how long she was on Zantac. Her doctor may have those records since he may have suggested she either start taking Zantac or perhaps even have given her a prescription for it (it used to be Rx). In lieu of that there may be store receipts perhaps that show Zantac on them. The store may have record of what she bought or credit card perhaps.
If you have a local personal injury firm or your attorney can suggest someone and they are involved in the suit then give them your case.
Usually these big class action suits have a website which will detail what type of records/info you need to provide.
