Did you all use Folex Instant or Folex Professional?

Folex Instant worked well for me. Didn’t know about the other.

Never heard of Folex. A knowledgeable friend used to recommend simple Resolve for carpets, which worked- sometimes, better than others. We got rid of the carpets that would show a prominent stain-- but now want to go back to that. I’ve been frozen, not moving forward, worried about stain removing. So, thanks for this tip.

@notrichenough, thank you! Funny, when I couldn’t find anything on my own, I called gokeyless and they’re the ones that gave me the one recommendation I linked which makes me wonder why they didn’t suggest this one. I’ll check. It’s expensive and pretty unattractive but, in this case, functionality is most important.

So use this https://www.homedepot.com/b/Cleaning-Cleaning-Supplies-Floor-Cleaners-Carpet-Cleaning-Products/OxiClean/N-5yc1vZcb52Zblm

You also want to go to the dollar store and either get a denture tooth brush cleaner or a large toothbrush. Wet the area with the oxyclean then agitate it with the toothbrush then blot up. Repeat as needed then vacuum the area dry. Whenever spilling just blot up the wine in your case don’t rub it out just blot. Get some dish soap and water. Apply for 10 minutes then blot dry. If not gone then follow the oxyclean suggestion

@collage1 that is funny because I chatted with them and they gave me that recommendation.

Is using a lockbox an option? You can chain the key to the back to keep it from wandering off, and that would be a much cheaper option.

Need suggestions for WIFI booster. We just had a Fiber Optics line installed, but they put the router in the absolute worst location, below grade. Signal needs to be sent through multiple walls of concrete & plaster. By the time it reaches the furthest room which is only about 32’ away (as the crow flies), the speed drops from 250Mps to about 20! They tried a “slave” router, but that made absolutely no improvement. It would be very difficult to move the main router at this point, so we’re hoping there are other options for boosting the signal. Anyone try ethernet over the power lines systems?

@notrichenough, maybe it’s who you end up speaking with! Do you have this lock? Are you happy with it? And I appreciate the suggestion but a lockbox won’t work.

Folex is great stuff!

@collage1 no I don’t have that lock. I don’t think I could bring myself to drop $500 on a lock lol. I just saw your question and started googling.

@kjofkw I tried ethernet over power in my previous house and never saw speeds above 6-8 Mbps.

I assume your router has some jacks on it? Honestly your best bet is probably to pull a cat6 cable to a more central location out of the basement, and get a standalone wifi router.

There used to be a site called College Abacus that would let you select three colleges at a time, ask a superset of all of those colleges’ NPC questions, and then feed your answers into those colleges’ NPCs. The problem is that the number of college specific questions could be large enough that you would not be saving that much data entry work.

If several colleges you are considering use the College Board template, you can create an account to save information for other NPC runs for colleges using the College Board template, although colleges may ask some college specific questions that a previous college NPC run may not have asked.

Yes, they work and it’s one option. Also you need a good router /modem. Try the Netgear Nighthawk then get some of their adaptors like 1 per floor. These are very powerful. You are creating a mesh network. You have to get the ones for your size house. I would also go larger.

The power adaptor ones a friend of mine swears by them. It’s all going to be hit and miss.

The easier thing to do is have your internet provider move it to the proper location then add adaptors as you need them. With our adapters I have one in our kitchen but as a bonus it covers the entire backyard so we can be outside anywhere and have wifi… Of course depending on the size of your property

Okay, well, this is weird. Yesterday the stain was practically gone. This morning I woke up to a big purple blob again.

Guess I’m going to have to call the carpet cleaner.

It’s wicking up from deep in the carpet. You’ve cleaned the top layers of fiber and after that dries the stain starts creeping back up. I would repeat what you did yesterday, getting it as dry feeling as you can by blotting or using a wet vac, and then cover with cornstarch to absorb as much as you can.

Try the oxy clean pet stain remover. I’m telling you that stuff gets out anything.

It’s because your rubber pad underneath is wet. Dry vacuuming it.

Edit is because of user error.

It’s wall to wall carpet and we have our house for sale. Not sure I want to pull the carpet up. I’m hoping I can get it out without having to do that, or that the carpet cleaner can do something.

Did you try putting white wine on it? White wine gets up red wine).
