The desktop (or laptop) version. Phone is fine not really different.

The most annoying part of the new Facebook format on desktop/laptop web browsing is that it is slow and often appears to get stuck waiting for content to appear.

It does have a dark mode, if you prefer that.

I just hate all the side stuff - it seems to take up too much room. Let me see what’s most recent and access my groups - the rest is just clutter!!!

@rockymtnhigh2 and @collage1 I use a SmartThings hub with three Samsung leak sensors put in our places most likely to have a leak (laundry room, kitchen sink and under the fridge). Also have the Flume device on the water meter (love it!) and EcoNet’s Bulldog Valve Robot (just okay) in case I’m away from home and get an alert. That’s only happened once when I leaned a dripping mop next to the washer and it set off the leak sensor.

Can you tell I had a $$$ leak in the past? These were all easy to install.

@aMacMom, do each of these devices provide you with a different type of protection?

@collage1 Yes they do. The leak detectors show moisture on the floor, Flume shows excessive water usage, configured by user for both high and low flow. I could configure the Bulldog Robot to automatically engage if a complication happens, but haven’t needed that function since we’re hanging close to home these days.

We’ve had 2 major leaks in the last 5 years. Fortunately both were above our garage, so little damage of content. More damage to ceiling, floors, etc. Both plumbers (same company, different individuals), said they turn off their water at the meter if they are gone longer than a day or two! I guess they’ve seen enough.

According to our plumber, turning off the water is not an option in the winter in our home. We have baseboard water heating.

We had 2 leaks in outside pipes years ago. Our builder/designer lamented ‘I hate water’. That pretty much sums up my feelings.

I’m curious why your plumber says that/what kind of system you have. The baseboard HW systems I have had were all closed loop, you should be able to shut off the fill valve and unless you have a leak it should maintain the pressure forever, with the expansion tank dealing with the volume variations due to temperature changes.

Your boiler hopefully has a low water cutoff, so if you do get a leak it the boiler will shut down. If you don’t you might consider adding one, it’s a good safety feature.

If the fill valve is closed, your heating system is isolated from the main water supply, and you can shut that off with no issues AFAIK.

Not a plumber, YMMV.

Thanks for the info @notrichenough. That actually makes sense.

This probably works in preventing freeze damage in Northern states, but when we leave town for an extended period our sprinklers and pool filler need to work or we come home to dead landscape and a dead pool pump. We need twice a week irrigation and pool filling.

Should I be ashamed that I ate an entire pint of ice cream instead of dinner tonight?

That sounds like dinner to me. Have had the same meal several times.

It depends. What flavor?

Ben & Jerry’s, Gimme`Smore

@CottonTales, not in the least!

@CottonTales. I’m coming to your house!

I am now a depressed old woman, eating my way through ice cream life. Tonight is a pint of Ben and Jerry’s “Boots on the moooon”.

I will wake up tomorrow feeling as crappy as I did this morning, but it’s okay. For the moment, all is well while eating my pint.

Eating your pint is a heck of a lot better than drinking your pint.

NICE!! Been hooked on some Aldi’s like Thank you Cheeri much…very good…
